CONCEPT - FEASIBILITY STUDY - PRELIMINARY DESIGN.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY AND INTEGRATED PRODUCT DESIGN.

The three initial phases of the product design process are performed with a practical, rigorous, multidisciplinary and integrated approach, balancing the product adequacy to provide the required performance at the right level of complexity and construction costs.

The design choices are taken with awareness and balance, according to the required performance, the necessary precision, the costs and availability of materials and technologies, the expected number of items.

OPTIMIZATION AND REVERSE ENGINEERING.

PROJECT REVIEW - TOPOLOGICAL OPTIMIZATION.

Cooperation in the revision of existing projects and in the optimized redesign of components with the aim of reducing weight, costs, improving mechanical and vibrational performance.

The activity includes topological optimization for additive manufacturing, performed with specific software.

Reverse engineering activities are performed on existing objects and geometries detected through 3D scanning or X-ray tomography and their CAD modeling.
With the combined adoption of these techniques, it is also possible to produce spare parts for no longer available elements.

PRODUCTION CONTROLS.

EXPEDITING and INSPECTIONS.

Production expediting activities, monitoring of design, acquisition, construction, testing, certification of production lines, machinery, and components.

The job’s plan sharing between customer and supplier is coordinated, following the requirements of the job’s technical documents, specifications and purchase orders, ITP (inspection and test plan), and applicable technical standards.

Next, the progress of the activities according to the agreed program is monitored and recorded with the simultaneous issue of inspection reports showing the checks carried out at the supplier and sub-suppliers and any findings, critical issues, and proposed solutions.

Where required, quality inspections are carried out with verification of the formal consistency of the documents produced by the suppliers.

Machinery Directive MD 2006/42/EC - Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU

Assistance and cooperation for preparation of the technical file and other documents necessary to demonstrate compliance with the essential safety requirements according to the  Machine Directive MD (2006/42/EC) and Pressure Equipment Directive PED (2014/68/EU), considering the possible additions required by the Low Voltage Directives LV – LVD (2014/35/EU), Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC – EMCD (2014/30/EU) and ATEX (2014/34/EU).

The experience gained in the design, construction, and certification of special machinery and pressure equipment for critical markets such as steel, ports, petrochemicals, energy, offshore, are useful in identifying any critical issues and suggesting possible solutions.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS DRAFTING.

SUPPLIER TECHNICAL ALIGNMENT.

Assistance and cooperation in the drafting of technical specifications for design and production.

Drafting activity, possibly in English, takes advantage of the experiences gained in general and specific fields, such as petrochemicals and off-shore.

The supplier technical alignment service is the natural continuation of the activity and allows to verify compliance of the offers received with the requirements of the drawn-up specifications.

The technical alignment can be declined as a simple verification and preparation of synoptic documents or as a collaboration with suppliers to bring all offers to an equal level of supply.

PROTOTYPING.

REALIZATION OF PROTOTYPES WITH TRADITIONAL TECHNOLOGIES OR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING.

Assistance and cooperation in the definition of functional prototypes or simple simulacra, and in their realization with traditional subtractive technologies and Additive Manufacturing by selecting qualified suppliers.

DETAIL DESIGN.

CAD DRAWING, FINITE ELEMENTS CALCULATIONS, CAE ANALYSES.

General mechanical design.

The activity can develop along all stages of the design process:

• pre-sales technical consultancy – analysis and preliminary study and estimate

• sizing of shafts, sprockets and gears, ropes, chains
